Abstract: The baryon number in the Standard Model is violated by
non-perturbative sphaleron transitions. Using lattice simulations, we
calculate the sphaleron rate in the Standard Model at experimentally
allowed values for the Higgs mass. In particular, this quantity enters
computations of Baryogenesis via Leptogenesis, which is mediated by
equilibrium sphaleron transitions that convert non-zero lepton number
into non-zero baryon number. Combining existing numerical methods applicable
in the symmetric and broken electroweak phases, we find the temperature
dependence of the sphaleron rate at very high temperatures, through the electroweak
crossover transition, and deep into the broken phase.
