The warm inflation paradigm and its gravitino-overproduction problem

The inflationary Universe is arguably the best mechanism to solve the shortcomings of the standard big bang theory. In this talk I introduce a generalization of the standard inflationary paradigm known as warm inflation. This paradigm considers the continuous production of radiation due to a dissipative inflationary dynamics. Nevertheless, high scale warm inflation results in a large reheating temperature, which then poses a severe gravitino overproduction problem for the supersymmetric realisations of warm inflation. In this talk I show that in a certain class of supersymmetric models the inflaton field manages to avoid this problem. Furthermore, I illustrate how the proposed solution may be realized in theories of supergravity.
