Tuomas Tenkanen will defend the doctoral dissertation entitled “Electroweak phase transition in theories beyond the Standard Model” in the Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki, on 3 May 2018 at 10:00. APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR THE 2018 CERN SCHOOL OF COMPUTING (CSC 2018)

The 41st CERN School of Computing (CSC 2018), organized by CERN in collaboration with Tel Aviv University (TAU), will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel on October 1-14, 2018.
There are few places available. The school is for scientists and engineers in the fields of Computing and Physics. Their goal is to create the best conditions for learning, but also to facilitate cross-national and cross-institute networking.
The two-week academic programme consists of more than 50 hours of lectures and hands-on exercises, covering three main themes: base technologies, physics computing, and data technologies.

The School is limited to 60 students. The total fee is EUR 1500 per student (limited financial support may be available for justified cases). The deadline for applications is Sunday May 13.

ACADEMY OF FINLAND: FUNDING FOR NSF GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWS FOR RESEARCH IN FINLAND

The funding is applied for by the Finnish host of the Graduate Research Fellow.
The US National Science Foundation (NSF) awards Graduate Research Fellow (GRF) grants to talented US researchers working on their doctoral thesis for research spells in Finland or other countries included in the Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide (GROW) programme.
