“Methodological Developments in Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy: Computational and Experimental Perspectives”
Abstract: Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy is a powerful experimental technique for probing defects and electronic structures in materials. In this presentation, I will introduce my work in positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy during my PhD in University of Science and Technology of China, including extracting the positron-electron correlation functional from Quantum Monte Carlo simulations of a homogeneous positron-electron gas and applying it in density functional theory calculations, using machine learning to predict positron annihilation lifetimes in solids, and developing a high-count-rate positron annihilation lifetime spectrometer. These studies provide insights into defect characterization and electronic interactions in materials.
