Kumpula Physics Colloquium online, Friday 27.11.2020
The next Kumpula Physics Colloquium of the Autumn series will take place on Friday 27.11.2020 at 14:15 on the University Zoom meeting.
Our speaker is Christer Fuglesang, who is a professor in Space Travel and the Director of the KTH Space Center in Stockholm. He is also the first astronaut from the Nordic Countries, who travelled to space twice, in 2006 and 2009. Christer will talk about his experience as an astronaut and his current projects. The title of his talk is “From KTH to Space: A story of space travel to ISS and future large projects”. The talk will last about 30 minutes, after which there will be time for questions.

Fredrik Oljemark, FM will defend the doctoral dissertation entitled “Single Diffraction in proton-proton scattering with TOTEM at The Large Hadron Collider” (Diffraktiivinen sironta protoni-protonitörmäyksissä mitattuna TOTEM-kokeella LHC:ssä) on 27 November 2020 at 12:15. Post doc scholarships
Persons who recently have obtained their PhD may apply for a postdoctoral scholarship. The purpose of a postdoctoral scholarship is to enable the grantee to further develop as a researcher. Applicants for a postdoctoral scholarship may also apply for support for research related costs and travel. A separate application for these purposes must be made.
Graduate student scholarships
The graduate student stipend can be awarded for a period of one year or a half year, preferably for the period 1.7. – 31.12. to a student who has been accepted by the university as a doctoral student. The stipend can be awarded conditionally to a student about to graduate.
