DOCTORAL DEFENCE
Lauri Niemi will defend the doctoral dissertation entitled “Non-Perturbative Approach to the Electroweak Phase Transition in Extended Higgs Sectors” in the Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki, on 28 September 2021 at 15:00. Professor Mikhail Shaposhnikov, EPFL Lausanne, will serve as the opponent, and Professor Kari Rummukainen as the custos.

Tiedejatutkimus.fi-palvelun Tutkijan tiedot -työkalun testiversio on avoinna 30.9.2021 saakka. Testiversioon kirjaudutaan ORCID-tunnuksella ja tiedot tallennetaan testitietokantaan, joka poistetaan testivaiheen jälkeen. Testaa työkalua, ja anna siitä palautetta.

Post doc scholarships
Persons who recently have obtained their PhD may apply for a postdoctoral scholarship. The purpose of a postdoctoral scholarship is to enable the grantee to further develop as a researcher. Applicants for a postdoctoral scholarship may also apply for support for research related costs and travel. A separate application for these purposes must be made.
Graduate student scholarships
The graduate student stipend can be awarded for a period of one year or a half year, preferably for the period 1.7. – 31.12. to a student who has been accepted by the university as a doctoral student. The stipend can be awarded conditionally to a student about to graduate.

Finnish Academy of Science and Letters / Researchers Short Mobility program (RSM)
Finnish Academy of Science and Letters is participating in a seed funding program to initiate and strengthen bilateral cooperation in science, innovation and higher education in fields of excellence in Finland and France.
In order to initiate or strengthen cooperation in science, innovation and higher education on all research topics of mutual interest, this program will allow researchers from France and from Finland (both ways) to visit their counterparts for a short period (from a few days up to 2 weeks). Doctoral students and young researchers are strongly invited to apply!

Ålandsbanken on Itämeriprojektin kautta rahoittanut Itämeren tilaa edistäviä hankkeita jo vuodesta 2014. Rahoitusta jaetaan viidessä eri kategoriassa, ja tukea hankkeilleen voivat hakea niin yksityishenkilöt, yritykset, säätiöt kuin konkreettisiin tuloksiin tähtäävät tutkimushankkeet. Hakijan ei tarvitse olla vakiintunut toimija alalla. Tärkeintä on, että toimijalla on vaikuttaviin tuloksiin tähtäävä idea Itämeren tilan parantamiseksi.
