PHYSICS DEPARTMENT COLLOQUIUM ON 18.05.2018 AT 14.15 IN E204 (note location!)

—————————————————————————————-
You are warmly invited to our final departmental colloquium of the academic year. Our speaker on Friday is visiting professor Mark Hindmarsh from the University of Sussex, who also spends a substantial fraction of his time here in Helsinki. Mark is an expert in numerical simulations studying the physics of the early universe. His talk, titled “Higgs Fizz in the Big Bang”, he will explain how the ‘fizzing’ Higgs boson can generate signals that could be seen by future gravitational wave detectors.

The talk will last 30 minutes, after which there will be a cocktail reception. Welcome!

For more information please visit: http://blogs.helsinki.fi/physics-colloquium/

The colloquium series will return in the Autumn with more speakers from near and far, speaking about a variety of topics of interest to physicists. If you have a visitor coming to Kumpula whom you think might make a good colloquium speaker, please contact the colloquium organisers. We’d also love to hear your feedback! You can get in touch via our web page or contact us directly. The organisers are: Minna Palmroth, Lucile Turc, Aleksi Vuorinen and David Weir.
